Hey,

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Microsoft Word? (2005 - or whatever.) I just got windows 7 and it doesn't come with Word. It only has wordpad, which is rubbish. I've looked online, but Microsoft Office is £70, which is very steep considering I only use Word and none of the other programs. Any help/advice would be much appreciated as I can't write without Word!

Cheers,

Robo

Hi Robo
Have you considered using OpenOffice. Its free and will read the secret proprietary data format that Microsoft uses for its Word Documents. OpenOffice has all the functionality and more of Word, and has very similar menu options.
Why can you only use Word ? After all, its the content that is more important that the formatting or margins!

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your reply.

It's OK - a friend of mine gave me a copy of word. I guess you're right about using other systems - it's just after so many years writing I'm really used to word and how it works. Cheers anyway!
